quick + not sourdough!
I had never baked with yeast before I began sourdough. My husband would use the normal artisan sourdough bread for sandwiches. They made awesome pan fried sandwiches, but not the greatest cold sandwich.
I finally decided to try a quick yeast recipe one day for him when he decided he wanted sandwiches for his work lunch for the week.
I tried a couple different ones, but this ended up being our favorite. It cuts super easy, and doesn’t get soggy.
just make sure to follow the directions correctly. A couple times I didn’t do the kneading during the first rise, and the bread ended up being more crumbly and not chewy like you want sandwich bread to be.
we don’t buy aerosol non-stick sprays, so I always use a stick of butter to grease my pan. Here is the pan I use.
