my favorite nontoxic ways to make my home smell good

if you have jumped into less toxic products, you probably already know that all of your bath & body works stuff is horrible for you, your family, and your pets! I know it can be hard to let go of those scents that make your house smell so good each season with candles, wallflowers, soaps, etc. I used to be an avid bath & body works shopper, with wallflowers throughout my home. Now anything from there gives me a headache and makes me nauseous.

over the past few years I’ve tried some different companies to replace my bath and body works products. Here are some of my favorites.

grow fragrance

they have room/fabric sprays for every season. They also sell candles that go with your room spray. Their products have great ingredients, and the sprays last so long for us. We used the same spray in our bathroom for over 6 months, even with my toddler insisting he needs to spray each time he goes #2 lol.

hbc organics

this company is local to me in Michigan. She sells soaps, candles, body products, hair products, baby products, and so much more. Her candles are so good, and remind me a lot of bath and body works. She even does a candle of the month program.

Fontana candles

I’ve tried for so long to get my mom to switch from bath and body works, and these candles are one that she really likes. They come in pretty jars, and burn for a long time. They are on the pricier side.

essential oils

the brand that I use currently is plant therapy. I have the organic bundle, and a few blends. Young living and doterra are most recommended, but they don’t really fit in our budget. I am comfortable with using plant therapy. I would not buy essential oils from a grocery store, T.J.Maxx, etc. I really love the plant therapy oil germ fighter to diffuse. They do have candles and other products that I have not tried yet.

hand soap

for hand soap I tend to buy attitude or everyone off Amazon. The attitude one I buy smells like warm vanilla sugar from bath and body works. They are both very budget friendly.

I hope these suggestions help, and it is possible to keep your house smelling good without the toxins!
