I would definitely say that my family’s most loved cookie is chocolate chip. It is also one that you can take anywhere, and everyone will love.
once I started sourdough, I tried so many recipes for sourdough, sourdough discard, and regular chocolate chip cookies. We like ones that aren’t flat, and are nice and chewy.
a lot of the sourdough starter ones ended up being very bread like and more dense than we prefer, and non-sourdough ones didn’t have as good of a flavor. Sourdough discard was the winner for us.
I try to use all organic ingredients when I have them. Also, make sure you follow the recipe by using softened butter, otherwise they won’t turn out as good if you melt the butter.
these cookies are soft, chewy, and are perfect when you store them in the freezer and take one out to eat frozen! I will store them in the freezer for weeks, and they taste just as good as the day they were baked.
